QCYC hosted a great weekend of sailing over 22/23 February for a pared back Interislander. No longer an NZIODA ranking regatta this was a smaller, lower stress event. It was great to see a good contingent of Wellington sailors and a resurence in junior sailing happening over there. Canterbury, Nelson and Marbolough made up decent sized fleets. Typical gusty and shifty conditions dominated but were better than the forecast of not much wind. Charlie (1), Lucy (3rd), Mila (4th), Millie (6th) showed CBYC strength in the Starlings while Luca (1), Caleb (6), George (10), Jack P(11), Jack D (13), Carter (14) enjoyed a great time in the Optis. Newcomers Allie Perano and Isabel Ma enjoyed some great sailing in the Greenfleet. Massive thanks to coach Ben Catton for travelling to PIcton, and to all the parents who came and had a fantastic time!
