Membership

2023/24 sailing season membership is open from 1 September, and must be completed by 31 October.

Charteris Bay Yacht Club welcomes new members in all classes, young and old!

As a modest-sized, famiy friendly club run by volunteers we rely heavily on membership fees to run our club. We also depend on volunteer input from members and their families to run our events and programs and maintain our facilities. Being a club member makes you part of our team!

Membership fees allow you access to the club, to be a welcome participant at all club events, and to sail at other clubs and organised regattas through the club's affiliation to yachting NZ.

As a member you can purcase hard stand space to store your boat at the club (subject to space availability). You will have after hours access to the club rooms and shed with your own key (fee payable). You can participate in racing and sailing on club days with active support boats and the company of a great group of people. You will get friendly advice and support from other club members and a great social environment.

For junior sailors, club membership allow use of the club plastimist boats on club days and for seniors the use of the adult LTS boats which may include Laser, Omega and Topaz subject to availability. Greenfleet sailors are required to be club members.

Refund Policy

Membership and merchandise must be paid for at the time of purchase. Membership and Hardspace may be cancelled up to the Opening Day of the season this may incur an admin fee. Cancellation after Opening Day is non refundable. Merchandise is non refundable.

Regatta entry fees must be paid for at the time of purchase. Cancellation up to one week prior to the regatta may incur an admin fee. Cancellation in the 7 days prior to the regatta is non refundable.

Learn to Sail Courses must be paid for at the time of booking to secure your place. If the course is not paid by one week prior to the course your place may be cancelled. Cancellation up to one week prior to the course may incur an admin fee. Cancellation in the 7 days prior to the course is non refundable.

Any refund outside the above policy is at the discretion of the committee.
