Summer camp was a much smaller event this year, due to tides it was scheduled later than usual in January and was consequently harder to get volunteers to help out. So we ran just two Learn To Sail groups and the Open Fleet Optis. Probably lucky given three days of uncharacteristically wet, cool conditions and no wind on day two. One of the Queenstown kids was heard to say “this would be a lovely place to come to in summer!” They made the most of it though getting out on the water two of the three days and finishing with the traditional sail to Quail Island and back for all the Learn To Sail, a hardy bunch! Many thanks to Kim and Sarah for pulling it together, Noels for running the kitchen, Ali and Fergus for coaching and Ruby and Aston for a last minute fill in! Also thanks for the good humour of the kids and parents. Photos can be viewed here.
