What a great kick off to the season with over 20 boats braving the chilly spring water. Richie Fisher took out the seniors opening day trophy in his Hobie 16 while Kaspian Evatt won the Winters trophy in his Opti.
Mike Pearson welcomed everyone to the club for the season, including a shout of craft beers, much appreciated!
There was a good turn out at the opening including Ross May president of CYA and Vicki Moore from YNZ together with our Patron Ken Nesbit, President Malcolm Pearson and Vice Presidents Dick Brown and Bill Studholme.
Thanks were given to those wonderful members who have given their time at the working bees over the winter. CBYC like all clubs is reliant on its members help and with a small member base we appreciate any input on offer.
We are also very grateful for two very generous donations one from the Brown Family Trust to support the junior sailing programme and the second from Ken and Lesley Nesbit to support two regattas. Both these donations have a significant impact on the quality of what the club can offer.
So roll on a summer of fair winds and sunshine, happy sailing!
